Lisa Telford
Lisa Telford is a Cape Town based member of the Reach team. She has a background in the social sciences and holds a Master of Public Health degree specialising in Epidemiology from the University of Cape Town.
Lisa first became involved in Rheumatic Heart Disease research after joining the Children’s Heart Disease Research Unit as a part-time research assistant and NRF intern in February 2017. Prior to her involvement in RHD, Lisa had previously worked on a retrospective cohort study investigating the factors effecting linkage to care for drug-resistant TB patients in South Africa and it was then that she first developed a keen interest in public health.
Lisa’s varied background brings a new perspective to the Reach team where her primary role includes providing assistance and support for the country programmes component.
